The exhibition explores the crossovers of art and design in post-independence India through works made at the unique Vitrum Studio (1957-1974) in Mumbai. Founded by glass expert Simon Lifschutz, a Jewish war émigré from Poland, the Studio invited artists to create hand-painted ceramic tiles and Venetian glass mosaics as affordable art, decor objects, and murals.

We are thankful to Haresh Mehta, Lifschutz family, Pundole family, Jamshyd & Pheroza]. Godrej, Ravi Cunha & family, Estate of Foy Nissen, Estate of Penelope Estabrook Mirchandani and the National Film Development
