The “A Glazed History: Badri Narayan & the Vitrum Studio” exhibition at JNAF (CSMVS, Mumbai) resurrects the largely forgotten legacy of Vitrum Studio, co-founded by Polish émigré Simon Lifschutz and his wife Hanna at Kemps Corner. The show charts how the studio blurred art, design, and craft by producing hand-painted ceramics and Venetian glass mosaics for everyday homes, not just elite collections. Centered around Badri Narayan’s pioneering work, the exhibition also features archival photographs, writings, and installations that reconnect Mumbai to its mid-20th-century visual culture.
