“Mumbai’s Glazed Memories: A Glazed History -- Badri Narayan and the Vitrum Studio” at the JNAF exhibition revives the story of Vitrum Studio (1957–1974), where art, design and architecture merged through hand-painted ceramics and glass mosaics. Badri Narayan and his peers created accessible art pieces for the rising middle class in Bombay, blurring traditional artistic boundaries and introducing public art into everyday spaces. The show spotlights both celebrated and lesser-known works, drawing attention to forgotten murals and narratives, and explores how Vitrum’s legacy intersects with contemporary conversations about craft, design, and the visual heritage of the city.
